Studio Policy

Enrollment/Registration

Studio registration is conducted on a first come, first served basis. To reserve a spot in the studio, all students must pay the annual enrollment fees which are applied as follows;
*Non-refundable registration fee.   This ensures that you are committed to taking lessons in the studio for the entire year, September through June.
*Materials fee. This goes towards studio handouts, use of learning aids, music recordings, reference materials and access to the music lending library.
For continuing students, registration paper and fees are due by July 1st.  After that time, new students will be accepted from the waiting list.
Enrollment fees for new students are due prior to the first lesson.images-19

Tuition

In compliance with the Washington State Music Teachers Association, of which I am a member, all tuition fees are collected in advance.
Piano tuition is based on the balanced curriculum outlined and not necessarily on the number of private lessons per month. Students will receive an average of four to five activities per month. However, some months will have additional events scheduled for which there is no extra charge.  Other months may have fewer events due to holidays/ vacations which coincide with the Port Angeles School calendar, for which there is no deduction in the tuition.
A late fee of $10.00 may be added to tuition that is 10 days past due. With the exception of extenuating circumstances, if a payment is not received by the third lesson of the month, lessons may be suspended until payment is made.

Missed Lessons

Each student is responsible for his/her reserved lesson time. The Washington State Music Teachers Association Policy states that lessons missed by the student will not be made up and no deduction in tuition will be made except for extended illness. I will, however, try to rearrange the lesson time or exchange times with another student if 48 hours notice is given.

Illness

Students are asked not to attend lessons when they are contagious (fever, cough, etc.). Not only does it put the instructor at risk, but it might also infect other students.

Student Supplies

Students should bring ALL materials to EVERY lesson. This should be carried to and from lessons in a book bag specifically for piano lesson material.
The teacher reserves the right to terminate lessons with any student at any time.
